The lost their reliable backup quarterback, Malik Willis, to the in free agency this offseason, but the team has finally found a replacement. Green Bay signed Tyrod Taylor on Monday behind Jordan Love. Taylor has spent the last two seasons with the , appearing in eight games with four starts. Though Taylor isn't an exciting signing and doesn't provide the same Jose Caballero Jersey upside that Willis did when he joined the team before the 2024 season through a trade with the , Taylor is actually the perfect backup for what the Packers need behind Love in 2026. Why Tyrod Taylor is the ultimate insurance policy for Jordan Love in 2026 Taylor has a ton of experience under his belt, having started 62 games in his 15-year career and posting a record of 29-31-1. The 36-year-old has been part of multiple quarterback rooms in a multitude of roles, whether as a starter, backup, or even third-string. Taylor is the definition of a profe sional who will be a fantastic veteran presence for Love, and it sounds like he's already making his presence felt in Green Bay despite signing just a few days ago. "He's only been here a couple days, but the cool part when he walked in the room, you could feel the presence, the confidence, the composure," "He's seen a lot. He's been in a lot of different systems, so (you can see) how quickly he's able to pick up on things. He showed up when we're going right to drills and he's a true pro and it was pretty cool to see. As far as the juice, he's definitely still got that." Though he has mainly been a backup over the last few years, Taylor is more than capable of filling in as a starter if the Packers need him.
